THE BUYING PROCESS

Buying a property in Turkey is a relatively simple procedure.  Although it is not strictly necessary to use a lawyer we recommend that you do so.

Once you have found a property or decided to have a new buid the legal process normally takes 3-4 months to complete.  Initially a 10% non-refundable deposit is required.  An application is then made to the military authorities to check whether the property is not in a politically sensitive area and that the purchaser has no criminal record.

Once  your application has been approved both the vendor and buyer must be represented at the land registry for entry of the title deeds into the land registry.  Most buyers prefer to come to Turkey to attend personally, however, this is not necessary if you have given power of attorney to your solicitor.

Your passport details are required and you must obtain a local NI number this is necessary so that you can open a Turkish bank account.  you will also be taken to the notary Office so that you can if you wish give power of attorney to your chosen solicitor so that when you transfer your funds to your Turkish bank account he or she can transfer to the seller on receipt of Tapu (title deeds).

This process is integrated into our service (3% estate agent commission).

In addition to the property price there are the following costs:-
